Pine Valley Tasmania Grade 3 Backpack

We plan to catch the ferry from Cynthia Bay Lake St Clair and carry packs about 9km on Jan 2 to Pine Valley Hut in the Cradle Mountain Lake St Claire National Park. From there we will explore the valley with a series of day waks to Cephissus Falls, the Acropolis, a 5 hour return walk north of the hut, the Parthenon and into the Labyrinth. The Parthenon is a 1200 metre wall-shaped peak west of the hut forming one side of Pine Valley. Behind it lays a network of lakes and tarns named for the maze-like Labyrinth of Greek mythology. Walking to the peaks is achievable but climbing the peaks will be optional however as these are challenging climbs,

 We will return to Cynthia Bay via the walk around Lake St Clair on Jan 8
