Event Report: A party of 8 set out on the sat morning from the Reservoir at Mt Buffalo and headed north. After a short time we took the side track to the Og Gog and Magog granite tors formation about 1.5km one way. The flora on display in this section of the track was quite breathtaking. Returning to the main goal we were soon offered the shortcut track which follows contours and was similarly adorned with magnificicent Mt Buffalo flora. It was a very hot day so progresss was slow at times but we all made camp by 3pm. ![]() Mosquitoes were an issue but we were well protected with clothing and repellent. By about 9pm everyone was bedded down when a ferocious thunderstarom frightened the hell out of us - it seemed to go for hours and some of us didnt get to sleep to the early hours; Not all were up to the 5am start requred for the sunset on the summit of Mt McLeod - but those that did were well and truly rewarded. ![]() ![]() The return walk to the Reservoir seemed easier than the walk on Sat but as none the less more enjoyabled. Some went for a swim at Lake Catani and others decided to toddle back to Albury Wodonga It was a priviledge to have the opportunit to enjoy Mt Buffalo in all its glory. ![]() |
