| Event Report: Due to rain overnight, we chose to do the Emperor Track Loop as there were no slippery steep sections. We left a vehicle on the Cravensville Rd/Emperor track corner, so that we had the choice of driving rather than walking the last 3 km down Cravensville Rd. It proved a good option, meaning that after a 5.5km hike, we could explore another area nearby along Edgar Track and avoid walking down the main gravel road. Great hiking weather, with no rain and a little sunshine filtering down through the trees. Lots of birds and huge old manna gums and mountain grey gums in this unburnt area of state forest. |
