Event Report: Early morning on the Grandmother Loop

3 lovely Ladies, 1 Chaperone and 1 Canine enjoyed a great walk in the Koetong state forest.

We started walking at 08.40 along the road to Mt. Lawson all the way to the Koetong creek for morning tea.
From there we turned in to Grandmother track. As we came through a grassy meadow we had a surprise as a voice called from the back. A Horse and rider enjoyed a day out in the bush doing the exact same loop as we were. We chatted a bit and learned that he floated his Horse from Yackandandah.
So, there are more dedicated people like us who go the extra bit for a great day out in the bush.
Horse and rider cantered off along the track a bit faster than us.
Next intersection we turned left in to a no name track, across the creek, and from there it is mostly up. After the last longish uphill we had lunch on a comfortable log. DSC02069 DSC02070

A little further along we turned right for a couple of meters on to a bigger track, right again up an other no name track, all the way to the Mt. Lawson road for a short time before turning in to the rail trail to inspect the trestle bridge. At 3 pm we sat at the pick-nick table with a cuppa and 'bickies'.
There are lots of tracks to explore up there, take a Vicmap because not all tracks have name sings.
