UPCOMING EVENTS Some members are off to Inverloch as we speak enjoying 4 days thanks to Di Ross. People will visit Wilsons Promontory and Phillip Island. Di also has a Beginners backpacking event happening Friday evening on the Bogong high plains. Starting from Watchbed Creek gate the party will walk out to Kelly's hut for the night LINK to Event The next day we have our annual Mt Bogong Conquestathon support event. 5 members are camping on Bogong summit to help the Lions Club of Mt Beauty to ensure the safety of the competitors. The main group will start from Granite Spur Car Park, access to this spot is about 20km past the main camp ground at Mountain Creek, and a 4x4 is needed to get up there. LINK to Event
New Members and Equipment Night
Tuesday May 1st at the Baranduda Community Centre Come along for an information sharing evening and to check out what gear is available from Gino's Adventure Camping Store in Dean Street Albury - bring a plate to share. The event is not on the calendar yet but will be shortly.
What have we been up to?
--- lots and lots of events Our annual trek to Tasmania led by Sean Parker and Liz Parish was an outstanding success and especially so for Di Ryan as she completed her first Backpacking adventure, well done Di Read her great report HERE Lots of wonderful photos have been posted on our MVB facebook group LINK HERE And there are heaps of new event reports which you access from the News menu item on the MVB website.https://murrayvalleybushwalkers.org.au/index.php/news/event-reports-2018 The two Tony's Monday and Tuesday morning walks have been going off the Richter scale in participation. Seems like lots of people are lucky to have one or both of those days available. And Di Ross has a coffee club happening on Wednesdays 12-15 to 1-15 pm at the Coffee Club opposite QEII square in Dean St Albury. The canoeing program continues to be a drawcard - especially if you are female it would appear!
