Tuesday walk: Hume Dam : 5 km grade 2

Please abide by any current Covid 19 regulations. 

The Dam is still spilling. A return walk across the NSW spillway and the VIC earthen embankment. Then up to Bethanga Bridge Road and follow the full lake back around to the Lake Vue Cafe for coffee and cake (what else).

Meet in the Hume Dam carpark on the NSW side at 8.50am.

 We will start and finish the walk, including cafe, from the dam carpark.

Toilets are available at Hume Dam and the restaurant.

Bring a morning tea snack for the far end of the dam. More coffee and cake afterwards at the Lake Vue Cafe for those interested.

GRADE 2

No bushwalking experience required. The track has a hardened or compacted surface that may have a gentle hill section or sections and occasional steps.

GRADE 3

Suitable for most ages and fitness levels. Some bushwalking experience recommended. Track may have short steep hill sections, a rough surface and many steps.

Day Walking

  • Current Medical Information Form FOUND ON THE WEBSITE HERE
  • Water - up to 2 litres recommended for a full day walk
  • Sunscreen
  • Gloves and hat
  • Sufficient food bearing in mind the distance and duration of the event 
  • Suitable clothing and footwear - note denim pants are uncomfortable
  • Wet weather waterproofs, jacket and pants
  • Walking poles
  • Gaiters
  • Basic first aid kit including your specific medication eg asthma applicator
  • Torch or headlamp for contingencies
