Pine Mountain, Burrowa-Pine Mountain National Park
SATURDAY: We will drive to Eighty Acres about 10km from Walwa where the track commences. From Eighty Acres to the top of Pine Mountain return is approx. 13 km. The track has a number of climbs and descents and is quite a strenuous walk. The Parks ranger tells me the views from the summit are spectacular. Parks Vic. recommends to allow 7 hours to do this walk and a good level of fitness is required. Upon completion of the walk we will drive to and camp near Bluff Falls.
SUNDAY: Depending on how the group feels we can either relax at the falls or we can walk up to Cambell's Lookout, 4 km return or Ross Lookout, 8 km return. Bring some food for a BBQ lunch. Departure for home will be about 4pm.
If you wish to travel back on Saturday night or early Sunday then that would be ok.
As Pine Mountain is 1060 meters above sea level all participants must be prepared for DAY WALKING IN THE ALPS. Click on the link below for what to bring.
Saturdays walk is a Grade 4 walk with an approximate distance of 13km and Sundays a Grade 3 walk of about 8km.
