Orienteer Chiltern. 3km, 2h, grade 2 to 4.

Interclub Event 1 Magenta Mine, Chiltern National Park – 24 March 2019
Sunday bike orienteering and bush events start 10.00am to 11.00am. 
Member cost for bike or foot Bush events is $7 per map. Membership $10/y.
Start area will be in the Chiltern National Park at the intersection of Rileys Rd and Green Hill Rd.
Directions to the start:
Drive through Albury and Wodonga on the Hume Freeway. 
Take the Barnawartha exit off the Hume Fwy. 
Turn left (south) at the roundabout in Barnawartha (there’s only one roundabout), heading towards Chiltern. 
After 1.3km from the roundabout turn right (west) onto Riley’s Rd (follow orienteering road signs). 
Continue on Riley’s Rd for 3.6 km to the intersection with Green Hill Rd.
 
Four courses on the sides of hilly and very open and dry terrain At the north end of the Magenta Map this event offers a choice of four courses. They are on the sides of hilly topology with very open and dry terrain.
Course 1 is hard 6km, course 2 is also hard 5km, course 3 is moderate 3km, course 4 is easy 2km.

Bush Walking GRADE 2 No bushwalking experience required. The track has a hardened or compacted surface that may have a gentle hill section or sections and occasional steps.
GRADE 3 is suitable for most ages and fitness levels. Some bushwalking experience recommended. Track may have short steep hill sections, a rough surface and many steps.
GRADE 4 Bushwalking experience recommended. Tracks may be long, rough and very steep. Directional signage may be limited.
Current Medical Information Form, Water for light activity and some hours, Sunscreen, hat, sleeves, footwear, A compass to practise, first aid kit including wood bandages and fasteners m.
The Albury Wodonga Orienteering club Defibrillator 
The club has now taken possession of a defibrillator, which must be taken to all events, as it could be a lifesaver in an emergency. The equipment is very simple to use. You take it from the container, press a button to turn it on and it voice prompts you on what steps to follow. 
 
First Aid Training 
In an effort to encourage to have more members with First Aid training the Albury Wodonga Orienteering club is offering a grant of $100 to any member who wishes to obtain or update a First Aid certificate. Contact Rick if you are interested.
