Tuesday walk: rail trail - Huon Reserve to Murrays Wayside: 7 km grade 2

Please abide by any current Covid 19 regulations. 

Meet in the carpark at Bunnings Wodonga at 8.30am to arrange car pooling and car shuffling to Murrays Wayside and Huon Reserve.

We will start the walk at Huon Reserve and walk along the high country rail trail to Murrays Wayside Stop on the other side of the amazing Sandy Creek Bridge. Should be spectacular views of a very full Lake Hume.

Toilets are available in the Bunnings carpark, Huon Reserve and Tallangatta township.

dogs OK ; but remember, as this is a car pooling event, please respect the cars of fellow walkers.

Bring morning tea snack. Coffee and cake afterwards for those interested.

GRADE 2

No bushwalking experience required. The track has a hardened or compacted surface that may have a gentle hill section or sections and occasional steps.

GRADE 3

Suitable for most ages and fitness levels. Some bushwalking experience recommended. Track may have short steep hill sections, a rough surface and many steps.

Day Walking

  • Current Medical Information Form FOUND ON THE WEBSITE HERE
  • Water - up to 2 litres recommended for a full day walk
  • Sunscreen
  • Gloves and hat
  • Sufficient food bearing in mind the distance and duration of the event 
  • Suitable clothing and footwear - note denim pants are uncomfortable
  • Wet weather waterproofs, jacket and pants
  • Walking poles
  • Gaiters
  • Basic first aid kit including your specific medication eg asthma applicator
  • Torch or headlamp for contingencies
