Tuesday walk - Huon Hill Stringybark Track : 5km grade 3

Meet at Bunnings carpark, Wodonga at 8.30am. Car pool to the start of the walk as there is very limited car parking at the trail head. 

A good walk to check out the current flooding on the Kiewa River floodplain.

We will be following the Stringybark Track up and back, which is 5km return. We will start at the park entry point at the cattle grid. The regular start location is at the Kiewa River-road junction. This is an additional 3km return but is presently under water.

Please adhere to any State or Federal COVID-19 health regulations. Members must provide their own sanitisers, gloves, wipes, masks.

Toilets are available in the Bunnings carpark and at the top of Huon Hill.

dogs OK but there will be kangaroos and maybe snakes around.

Bring  water and a morning tea snack. Coffee and cake afterwards for those interested.

GRADE 2

No bushwalking experience required. The track has a hardened or compacted surface that may have a gentle hill section or sections and occasional steps.

GRADE 3

Suitable for most ages and fitness levels. Some bushwalking experience recommended. Track may have short steep hill sections, a rough surface and many steps.

Day Walking

  • Current Medical Information Form FOUND ON THE WEBSITE HERE
  • Water - up to 2 litres recommended for a full day walk
  • Sunscreen
  • Gloves and hat
  • Sufficient food bearing in mind the distance and duration of the event 
  • Suitable clothing and footwear - note denim pants are uncomfortable
  • Wet weather waterproofs, jacket and pants
  • Walking poles
  • Gaiters
  • Basic first aid kit including your specific medication eg asthma applicator
  • Torch or headlamp for contingencies
