Lamington NAT Park QLD, Day walks, grade 3 and 4
All the walks in the Lamington National Park are grade 3 and 4. even the short ones why: roots rocks and mud. The exception is the boardwalk at O'Reilly's. Most of the walks are long up to 21 km. The gradient of the walks is gentle,
Romeo Lahey designed the walking tracks in Lamington National Park during the Great Depression. Lahey was a conservationist who studied the paths of dairy cows on the surrounding hills and noticed that they never had a gradient greater than 1:10. He designed the park's tracks to mimic this pattern so that walkers wouldn't get out of breath. In areas with steep terrain, he used steps instead of a steep track
