Hinces Creek Car Camp Burrowa-Pine Mountain NP
Peters High Plains backpack event has been postponed as road over Falls Creek will still be closed so this event has been programmed in its place.
Feel free to join and depart at any point in the program for this event
Also note that club member Barbara Williams has offered accommodation at her farm which is about 5 km from Hinces Creek and wrote
"anyone needing overnight accommodation is welcome to a bed or floor space at our place, we have plenty of room"
FRIDAY: Departing from the Gateway Village car park on the Lincoln Causeway at 3:00 pm we will head to the Hinces Creek camping area where we will set up camp. There are toilets at the camping area. You will need to bring water as there is none at the camp site.
SATURDAY: We will be departing from the camping area to walk the Hinces Creek track to Hince's Saddle. Then we follow Mt Burrowa walking track to Mt Burrowa at 1300 metres
SUNDAY: We plan to walk to Pine Mountain and this is a challenging 12 km return walk Grade 4 with fabulous views, scenery and wildflowers some of which dont grow anywhere else in the world. Return to Hinces Creek campsite and camp overnight
MONDAY: pack up camp drive around to Blue Gum camp and enjoy an easy 4 km Grade 2 walk to Bluff Falls - we aim to have lunch at the Jingellic pub - must be there before 2pm to order lunch
If you wish to leave Albury on Saturday to join us on the walk that will be ok.
As we will be walking up to 1300 meters above sea level participants must be prepared for day walking in the alps. Click on the link below for what to bring
