The south coast of NSW is justifiably a very popular holiday destination.

This car based camp at Hobart beach https://www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/camping-and-accommodation/campgrounds/Hobart-Beach-campground offers the advantages of staying in a National park with access to nearby facilities in Merimbula, Tathra and Bega. There are many activities available, local and nearby walks, bird watching and water sports as well as tourist facilities.

This week has been chosen to access the best prawning in Lake Wallagoot as the new moon approaches, the lake is renowned for its king prawns. The climate is generally mild with cool nights but extended periods of rain are common.

A National Parks pass is needed in addition to the camping fee, PCC and DVA card holders can apply in advance for a free yearly pass. A fishing license is required if fishing or prawning, PCC and DVA card holders are exempt.

Booking in early will help enormously in the organisation of this event because we have to book and pay for campsites in advance.

If we have a good idea of numbers then we can book campsites that are adjacent and not spread all over the campground.

Please hit the join link above and complete an MVB booking enquiry and I will get back to you asap.

Bushwalking Options:

The two attached maps aren't to the same scale but the camp-ground will give a reference point. The Kangarutha track is to the far right of "Nth Bounda" and as you can see there are heaps of tracks all over the place
