Hi All

Saturday 19th September. Range Road....

A great opportunity for our club to advertise our activities with the Nail Can Wildflower Walk.

We need some members to help Lin and Myself to man a stand promoting our club for a few hours.

The walk starts 9:30 from Range Road.  finishes 12:30 Hans is leading the walk.

 

We would man the stall either at the start and or finish. ??  FLYER LINK

The annual Nail Can Wildflower Walk will be held again this year on Saturday 19 September from 9.30am-12pm. The event is focused on promoting local wildflower diversity and the special place that is Nail Can.

We would like to invite your organisation to host a display stand/promotional tent on the day to assist in providing the community with information on the wide variety of environmental and sustainability groups/organisations we have across the Albury Wodonga Region.

If you would like to have a display on the day could you please let me know Monday 14 September 2015. Please feel free to contact me should you have any queries.

MVB Events Update September 1st  2015

First day of Spring  --- 

 

Annual General Meeting

Not quite enough members turned up to form a quorum on August 14,  Club Rules Item 10  - Link to Read

Please note that the club received just enough nominations to fill all 6 committee positions.

The AGM will resume on Friday evening 11th September at the 10 Pin Bowling Center, Sanyo Drive Wodonga  6:30 PM to ratify the committee.

After a quick Meeting - we will adjourn to the Bowling Lanes and spend $ 16.00 and enjoy an excellent evening

Food is available at the venue if you want to indulge..

Day Walks

The cold and rain seems to have taken its toll on the day walks both weekend and Tuesdays

 

Packhorse trail - on again for mid October 18th

 

Backpacking

 

Care to try out backpacking for a few days on the High Plains?  We will start form Cope Hut,  Friday 2nd October.

or come along Saturday for a shorter walk from Watchbed Creek - to Edmundson Hut and onwards

 

BBQ, Evening Walk and Spotlight

Well the last event was a beauty.  need to plan another asap.  Next Full Moon anyone..  or maybe a New Moon

 

Snow Events

Certanly has taken off, Jan has an event on most Sundays and Tony most Saturdays, check out our Program

Corryong Members Walks

Iris is busy adding walks.

From Albury its a bit of a drive up and back,  but you can always stay for the weekend in Corryong

Come along for a walk in the Desert,  Wyperfeild National Park  just a small 40k walk over 2 days

it is about 560 k form Albury/Wodonga .bit of a drive  27th August, for 5 days

MVB Events Update August 2nd 2015

Annual General Meeting - just another reminder

 

Just to mention -  our Club Rules stipulate that we need 20% of financial members in attendance to have a quorum

 

Its sneaking up very very  quickly - August 14th  Friday evening at Thurgoona Community Centre...click here for full details

At the AGM in August all positions (both on and off committee) are up for grabs.

There is a form you can fill out to nominate a person  / persons for any of the 6 positions. You must be logged in - its found under the Club tab and you can access it by clicking the link below

6 brave folk enjoyed a warm fire prepared by Tony and Peter - a glass of wine some fine food cooked over some coals

then a 6k walk..   I got home by 11pm

The weather has given some of our day walks a hammering for now but keep looking on the web site for any sudden entries.
 

Snow Events

The program is up and running and there are lots of snow shoeing and cross country skiing events on the program. Some brave souls ventured to the mountains last weekend in very, very wet and windy conditions (as in rain not snow sadly).

Corryong Members Walks

The Mt Granya walk last saturday was strategically withdrawn - good call Iris as it bucketed down all day! But wait - there are two more walks by Iris on the program - the Khancoban loop on August 8th and the Bunroy loop on August 15

 

Into the Crater..

Check out Mick Websters walk into the Murmungee Basin a fascinating geological formation on Sunday August 16 - with some geocaching in the mix its bound to be a fantastic walk.

 

 

Cycling

More bike riding events are definitely needed.

Expressions of interest for a multi day bike ride on the amazing 200km Goldfields track Bendigo to Ballarat will be well received.

Tony and I would love to accomplish this ride.

Looking for more participants and/or anyone willing to go on a tour sightseeing and be our ground crew.
