Confined to Barracks
Not surprisingly we had to cancel three events last week - but I did manage to squeeze in a trip to Chiltern on Sat morning (before the next deluge a few hours later). The forest floor was scoured by run off. Click the photo below to see more Chiltern forest photos.
We checked some nest boxes with the Friends of Chiltern Mt Pilot National Park

Autumn Splendour
Eight members made the trip to Mt Hotham to enjoy the magnificent Cobungra Ditch trail a 12.5km historical and environmental gem in the Victorian Alps. Even with such an exciting prospect ahead the leader managed to sleep in - his alarm clock set for the right time but the wrong day! No wonder he is hiding under his hat in the photo below.
Hans led the iconic walk of the North East Victoria on Sunday - the Big Walk up Mt Buffalo - highlights were a brown snake, an echidna, huge fallen tree to negotiate (as if the 1000m climb wasnt enough of a challenge) and of course the great flora and scenery.
