This is an alternative way to the summit of Mt Bogong. From Bogong Gap about 15km out of Mitta we drive off the Omeo Rd on a logging tack for 16 km to the foot of the Mulhauser Spur. Then an 8 km hike with 370m climb gets you to Cleve Cole Hut. We will camp here and walk up Mt Bogong on the next day and then return to the cars. Tony and I wanted to try this earlier but the heat kept us home. There will be a limit of 4 in my vechicle. Vehicle access is quite suitable for 2WD provided no trees have fallen over the bush tracks. If more want to join us, ask Tony re vechicle suitability. We would like to leave Albury/Wodonga about 6am. . If the weather permits and we make the Summit on Saturday, we will camp Saturday night on the Summit of Mt Bogong, Click here to join.

MVB Bulletin #62 March 18 2013
Meet your committee
This week we feature club Committee Member Tracey Barkley (Secretary)
Where were you born and went to school?
Born in: Deniliquin
How did you come to bushwalking?
What is your favorite bushwalk/abseil/canoe trip/ etc?
I have so many favourite walks there are 3 that standout in my mind Travers Sabine Circuit in Nelson Lakes National Park New Zealand, Gunderbooka National Park out near Bourke in outback NSW and a self guided walking trip that I led in Italy in 2010. Closer to home my favourite places to walk or tramp are Warby Ranges near Wagaratta Vic, Falls Creek, Mt Buffalo and so many more.
Whats the scariest experience you have had in the bush?
Whilst not actually in the bush it is part of our club activities, I would have to say that abseiling was very challenging for me. I am very scared of heights and for those of you who witnessed me kissing the ground after I made it down it was with great support from a fantastic leader Neil Brown who coached me every bit of the way, thanks Neil. Abseiling is something everyone should try at least once if they can. What is the best thing about being involved with Murray Valley Bushwalkers?
What advice would you give to a member considering joining the MVB committee?
Have a go. I had never held an executive position on a committee before, I feel very supported with the mentoring system and have learned many new skills. Recently I have taken an executive position in another organisation purely because of the experience I have gained with Murray Valley. This is a great club with fantastic members you wont be sorry, it is great being on the committee seeing how the club works on the inside and committee only meets 4 -6 times a year
New Member
We extend a warm welcome to our newest member Lena Sandstrom, we hope you enjoy all that the Murray Valley Bushwalkers club offers.
