(sometimes with some special preparations). The walk was partly along the 4wd tracks, mountain bike tracks, and a walking track.
Canoeing on the Murray
What a fantastic paddle the club had on Thursday 29 November with 14 participants along for the "ride" This was another highly successful after work paddle on a hot late spring evening - this event started at the Waterworks and finished at Donkey Farm. This is one of our favorite sections of the river. Dave the Canoe Guy advised us to be wary of snags and fast flowing water in the vicinity of Mungabareena. All arrived safely and a dozen of us enjoyed a post paddle bbq. Click the photo for more pics of this event.

"We had a wonderful walk today: 5 people enjoyed the walk from Lake Kerferd to Lake Sambell, where we had lunch with the local geocachers, walked around Lake Sambell and on the way back we visited the "heaven and hell" tunnels. Hell is full of water, and heaven is a rather dark place. Glad to see that nowadays people carry torches on my walks!!!!!
At the "heaven & hell" tunnels, the shorties (Neil, Sonja and Irene) traversed the darkness of heaven, while Chris and I searched for the cache, not easy, because the heavy tree cover played havoc with the GPS, but eventually we found it before the three shorties emerged from heaven! So geocaching didn't interrupt any activity, but kept the non-partakers of the activity occupied (a win-win!)."
Editors note: Great to hear that "shorties " get to go to Heaven after all - but putting Neil, Sonja and Irene in the shorties group .....hmmm where does that leave me!
Next committee meeting will be held in December at a venue and time to suit - more details in the next bulletin but if you have any issues you wish to have addressed contact any of the committee members

Woolshed Falls to Beechworth
This walk on Nov 15 apparently included a reptile encounter - read about it in this blog item
Did you know that the risk of snake bite while bushwalking is really quite low? - yes you do need to be aware of what to have with you and what to do in the event of snake bite but guess what the chances of being in a car accident while driving to and from a bushwalk are much higher than getting bitten by a snake!
Dragon Boat Training
Took place on Nov 18 with Claire Sandford - here is an event report
High Country Rail Trail Geocaching
Parts 3 and 4 were held on Sat 17 Nov - Hans reported that an amazing 30 caches were found by 3 members that day. This takes the total number of caches found so far by Team MVB to 96!
